About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Litigation Attorney to join our team in Alberton. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general litigation and family law, with a proven track record of success in handling complex cases. Deceased estate administration experience is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting litigation cases in the High Court, Magistrates’ Court, and other relevant courts
- Representing clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and maintenance
- Drafting and filing court documents, including pleadings, affidavits, and motions
- Negotiating settlements with opposing counsel and parties
- Managing client relationships and providing strategic advice
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of post-admission experience in general litigation and family law
- Proven track record of success in handling complex cases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualifications
- Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
- Relevant postgraduate degree or diploma (e.g. LLB, LLM)
- Membership with a professional legal association (e.g. SAPA)
