About the Role
Our client seeks an experienced national sales professional from the interior/exterior finishing industry to grow sales and specifications across targeted product categories. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, maintaining existing relationships, and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities across the national territory.
- Proactively call on existing accounts to maintain relationships and grow repeat business.
- Cold-call and develop new customer relationships (installers, fabricators, contractors, wholesalers, merchants).
- Present product solutions and technical specifications to architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors and corporate buyers.
- Provide technical guidance on product selection, detailing, specification, application and installation.
- Prepare and submit specification documentation, samples, shop drawings and technical submissions as required.
- Train customers, installers and internal sales colleagues on product use, installation best practice and safety.
- Manage RFQs: Prepare accurate quotes, negotiate commercial terms and follow up to close sales.
- Coordinate sample requests and logistics, ensuring timely delivery and traceability.
- Attend site visits, project meetings and snagging sessions to advise on product performance and resolve installation issues.
- Liaise with internal teams (marketing, technical, production, logistics, finance) to ensure customer requirements and delivery dates are met.
Requirements
- Interior Design or any related qualification.
Qualifications
- Minimum 35 years direct sales and/or specification experience in the interior/exterior finishes industry (preferred: cladding, façades, sealants, coatings, architectural aluminium, stone/concrete finishes).
- Proven track record of securing product specifications and meeting sales targets.
- Strong technical knowledge of finishes, installation methods, and relevant South African/NZ/ISO standards.
