About the Role
The Passenger Vehicle Workshop Controller is a key role in managing daily workshop operations and workflow, ensuring accurate job costing, invoicing, and warranty compliance while maintaining high levels of productivity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and control daily workshop operations and workflow
- Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill level and workload
- Monitor job progress and ensure timely completion of repairs and services
- Manage and control job cards, labour allocation, and productivity
- Ensure accurate job costing, invoicing, and warranty compliance
- Liaise closely with service advisors, technicians, and parts department
- Monitor workshop efficiency, productivity, and turnaround times
- Maintain accurate administrative records and workshop documentation
- Support the Service Manager with reporting and KPI tracking
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards, dealership policies, and health & safety regulations
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
- Relevant automotive or workshop management qualification (advantageous)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Workshop Controller in a passenger vehicle dealership
- Strong understanding of workshop operations, servicing, and repair processes
- Experience working with dealership management systems (DMS)
- Valid driver’s licence
