About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Secretary to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our conveyancing department, you will be responsible for managing conveyancing transactions end-to-end, preparing and maintaining accurate conveyancing files, and providing administrative support within a legal conveyancing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage conveyancing transactions end-to-end, including residential and commercial property transfers.
- Prepare and maintain accurate conveyancing files in line with required specifications and compliance standards.
- Provide administrative and organisational support within a legal conveyancing environment.
- Liaise effectively with all stakeholders involved in the conveyancing process, including financial institutions, municipalities, estate agents, and regulatory bodies.
- Draft conveyancing-related documentation with a high level of accuracy.
- Obtain required certificates, including transfer duty and rates clearance certificates.
- Handle lodgements and registrations relating to property transfers, bond registrations, and bond cancellations.
- Manage financial aspects linked to conveyancing transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
- Matric (essential)
- Relevant legal secretary, paralegal, or conveyancing qualification (advantageous)
- Minimum of 5 years conveyancing secretarial experience
- Proven experience handling conveyancing transactions independently
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office
