About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Resident Manager for a luxury safari lodge based in Bela Bela. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional with strong operational leadership skills and a hands-on management style, committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences in a high-end bush environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and host guests, ensuring personalised and memorable stays
- Manage guest requests, complaints, and special arrangements professionally
- Maintain luxury hospitality standards throughout the guest journey
- Engage with guests during meals, activities, arrivals, and departures
- Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food and Beverage, Kitchen, Spa, Retail, and Guest Activities
- Conduct regular lodge inspections and operational walkabouts
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, and controls
- Assist with occupancy management, reservations, and guest logistics
- Act as relief manager in the absence of the Resident Manager
- Lead, motivate, and support departmental teams
- Assist with staff training, coaching, and performance management
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work culture
- Lead by example to maintain high operational standards
Requirements
- 35 years experience in a similar hospitality management role
- Previous experience within a luxury lodge or safari environment preferred
- Strong understanding of rooms division and lodge operations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Opera or Opera Cloud systems advantageous
- Hands-on, guest-focused management approach

Salary & Benefits
Salary: R25,000 – R27,000 depending on experience. Live-in accommodation, meals while on duty, uniform provided, provident fund, and optional medical aid contribution.
