About the Role

Our client, a reputable and long-established frozen fish manufacturer, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cold Store MACRO Controller to support operations within their cold storage facility in Blackheath. This role reports into and supports the Cold Store Manager to ensure smooth warehouse operations, stock accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Cold Store Manager in coordinating daily cold store activities, including receiving, handling, storing, and dispatching frozen products.
  • Ensure all operational processes adhere to cold-chain requirements and meet 18°C temperature standards at all times.
  • Monitor equipment functioning and escalate temperature or equipment deviations promptly.
  • Support inventory control processes, including daily/weekly cycle counts, stock rotation, and reconciliation.
  • Assist in identifying stock variances, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain MACRO system records to ensure real-time stock accuracy and traceability.
  • Work exclusively with MACRO warehouse management systems and Microsoft Excel/Word to capture data, extract reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare operational, compliance, and variance reports for management review.
  • Assist with document control, filing, stock sheets, and operational checklists.

Requirements

  • 35 years of experience in cold store, warehouse, or logistics operations
  • Experience working with MACRO warehouse management systems (non-negotiable)
  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations preferred (Matric with strong relevant experience considered)

Qualifications

  • Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport essential

Salary & Benefits

  • R18 000 – R23 000 per month (negotiable on experience)

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturdays / Public Holidays)
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required
