About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Store Controller to join our team in Bloemfontein, South Africa. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of our products to customers while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and fleet efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of products to customers
- Communicate with drivers and clients to address any issues on site
- Liaise with drivers to address problems that may arise with deliveries
- Physically check items returned before requesting credit notes
- Conduct daily truck inspections to determine preventative maintenance, repairs, and damages
- Monitor driver abuse, wear and tear, tyre usage, and take necessary preventative actions
- Attend to breakdowns and accidents, put alternative plans in action to ensure delivery takes place with minimum inconvenience to customers
- Chair weekly toolbox talks with the team, give advice and motivate the team, address any concerns or problems that may arise
- Collaborate and communicate information related to shipments with relevant internal teams and customers
- Live monitor of Fleet
- Driver training and Onboarding
- Prepare and review drivers incentives monthly
- Present weekly and monthly reports to Managers and directors
- Enforce discipline and take disciplinary action against staff when needed
- Keep premises neat and clean by delegating, and ensure that yard is secured
- Ad hoc duties
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet and make decisions on the go
- Driven by results, committed to meeting deadlines and targets, ambitious and dedicated, taking on full responsibility and ownership of the position and the fleet
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Risk management on and off site
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
