We have been exclusively retained by a well-established and highly respected player within the steel and manufacturing industry to identify a strong Internal Sales Team Leader for their Gauteng operation.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the internal sales and customer support function while partnering closely with business development and operational teams to ensure seamless customer delivery and sustained client satisfaction.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Leadership & Service Excellence
- Lead, mentor, and support the internal sales team and front-desk support staff
- Drive a high-performance, customer-focused culture
- Monitor workloads, turnaround times, and service delivery standards
- Coach team members to improve accountability, efficiency, and customer engagement
- Collaborate closely with external sales and operational teams to ensure seamless execution
Customer Experience & Relationship Management
- Act as the escalation point for customer queries and service-related matters
- Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships
- Ensure accurate communication regarding pricing, stock availability, and delivery timelines
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through solution-driven service
Sales Administration & Commercial Controls
- Ensure adherence to pricing structures, discount controls, and stock policies
- Monitor quotations, orders, and transactions for accuracy and compliance
- Resolve internal operational and sales-related queries effectively
- Ensure all documentation and sales administration are processed accurately and timeously
CRM, Reporting & Sales Support
- Maintain accurate CRM records, customer data, and sales pipeline information
- Ensure leads and opportunities are captured and followed through effectively
- Compile internal reports and support commercial management reporting requirements
- Assist with business development support initiatives and pipeline administration
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
- Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous
- 35 years experience within internal sales, customer service, or sales administration
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience essential
- Strong understanding of pricing controls, customer service principles, and sales processes
- CRM systems experience and strong Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
