Job Description
- Matric plus relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Chemical or Food Science related (Diploma/Degree) advantageous
- Minimum 7 years relevant industry experience
- At least 5 years in a senior sales or regional management role
- Proven track record in B2B new business development
- MS Office Suite (advanced Excel advantageous)
- Working knowledge of the Food & Beverage manufacturing industry
- Experience in chemical hygiene, solutions and applications within the F&B industry
- Commercial branch management experience
- Budget and profitability management experience
- Commercial understanding of branch operations in a B2B environment
- Valid drivers license and own, reliable vehicle
DUTIES
- Responsible for the sales and commercial management of the Western and Southern Cape F&B Division
- Manage budgets and provide feedback on the profitably and growth of the F&B Division in the Region
- Responsible to manage any SLA agreements to maintain or improve profitability
- Oversee Projects and associated Product costings, reviewing progress reports to ensure profitability expectations were met, investigate variances, and take corrective action
- Track and control branch level expenses and operational costs
- Prepare Regional F&B sales and expense budgets
- Ensure technical and logistical SOPs for effective client management and support are adhered to
- Achieve continuous improvement through enhancement/evolution of branch operations.
- Act as specialist, making product and application recommendations to clients
- Ensure full compliance with all regulations (Labour, H&S, Client requirements, etc).
- Actively manage Key Account Customers to ensure business retention.
- Build and maintain strong Key Account client relationships, through direct engagement and relationship building
- Ensure Client / Site Services and Technical Reporting is performed effectively by team members
- Manage sales team outputs and achievement of targets, providing guidance for remediation where necessary
- Review and approve costings and proposals for SLAs and Projects
- Develop, implement and manage business development plans to expand client base and market footprint
- Prepare and present client proposals
- Prepare RFQ (tender) submissions, proposals and costings
- Monitor competitive landscape identifying improvements or recommending new products/services
- Ensure effective systems are in place to monitor and manage Clients and SLA Compliance
- Optimise service and systems to maximise efficiency and cost savings
- Monitor, mitigate and manage risk, ensuring technical feasibility with clients
- Ensure client requests for Free on Loan equipment are fully evaluated prior to agreement (authorisations required)
- Setup and effectively communicate client price increases based on inputs from Divisional Head Office
- Identify client accounts that may be at risk and discuss effective retention strategy with superiors
