About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Chef De Partie to join our 4* Hotel team in Cape Town. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our hotel kitchen and providing exceptional culinary services to our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain hygiene in food preparation, cooking, and storage
- Pre-cooking preparation
- Post-cooking clean up and handling unexpected situations
- Handle and maintain knives
- Prepare and cook protein dishes
- Prepare and cook basic sauces and soups
- Prepare and cook vegetables, fruit, and salads
- Prepare and cook starch and pulses
- Prepare and cook basic cold and hot desserts
- Prepare and cook confectionary and bakery
- Prepare and cook basic pastry dishes
- Prepare and cook basic egg dishes
- Prepare and present food for cold presentation
- Handle and store food
- Maintain a secure & safe working environment
- Maintain health, hygiene, and professional appearance
- Maintain productivity standards
- Provide client service
- Maintain effective working relationships with other members of staff
- Adherence and compliance to the service level agreement between the company and the client
Requirements
- Experience as a Chef De Partie in a 4* hotel or similar establishment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain productivity standards
- Excellent knife skills and ability to handle knives safely
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with other members of staff
Qualifications
- Formal education in culinary arts or a related field (e.g. Baking and Pastry Arts, Hotel Management)
