About the Role
As a Food and Beverage Director at Bushwise, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences across all F&B outlets in Cape Town City Centre. You will lead a team of associates to drive organisational profitability, achieve total guest satisfaction, and continuously innovate products and services. Key Responsibilities
- Provide the highest level of hospitality in all F&B outlets
- Achieve total guest satisfaction and organisational profitability through effective utilisation of resources
- Continuously delight guests by offering trend-setting and innovative products and services
- Plan, forecast, and budget revenues and costs for the department
- Staff and schedule associates, allocating duties to maximise associate productivity and minimise payroll costs
- Create a work environment that fosters high employee morale and provides constant learning and development opportunities
- Develop systems and procedures to achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Recruit, manage, and appraise associates in the department
- Develop and implement the annual plan using the Business Excellence Model framework
- Manage and lead associates to ensure maximum productivity
- Oversee outlet managers and supervisors with day-to-day running of their departments
- Monitor daily activities of all F&B outlets, including banquets
- Collaborate with outlet chefs on cuisine, menu planning, and design for various outlets/banquets
- Ensure prompt, efficient, and accurate service is provided to all guests through regular monitoring and feedback
- Organise food festivals and develop guest loyalty and retention programmes
- Compile and review monthly profit and loss statements for various outlets and assist in implementing approved budgets
- Maximise F&B profitability by implementing cost containment strategies
- Prepare promotion and marketing/PR plans for various outlets and execute them
- Conduct refresher-training programmes for associates and guide new members of the department
- Maintain regular contacts with corporate and individual customers, building strong relationships with them
- Stay informed about local, national, and international best practices/trends in food service, interior design, technology, and entertainment in F&B
- Develop departmental trainers in association with the training department and oversee all training activities within the department
- Ensure procurement of high-quality raw materials and cost-effective equipment
- Revise manager’s duty list to cover all areas of reporting and reconciling
- Perform audits and maintain positive audit results
- Update and complete KRA’s, identifying new ones and allocating them to associates
- Address grievance and counselling issues among department associates
- Ensure a safe working environment that does not harm or injure self or others
- Anticipate possible and probable hazards and conditions, correcting or preventing them from happening
- Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language, and conduct
Requirements
- Graduates from reputed hotel management schools (desirable)
- Graduates with experience in hotels or hospitality sector (1 to 2 years in similar position) (desirable)
