About the Role
We are seeking a skilled SQL & SSRS Developer & Reporter to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our reporting team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing automated reports aligned to business requirements and KPI definitions, while ensuring accuracy and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automated reports aligned to business requirements and KPI definitions
- Identify and migrate recurring Excel-based reports into structured system reports
- Build and maintain SQL-based reporting data structures to ensure accuracy and performance
- Ensure all reports reconcile with SYSPRO transactions and validated data sources
- Develop and maintain live dashboards for operations, production, and finance
- Support SYSPRO reporting requirements and identify data integrity issues
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis and convert recurring requests into automated reports
- Implement data validation, reconciliation checks, and KPI monitoring processes
- Investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams
- Monitor reporting system performance, resolve failures, and ensure uptime
- Implement alerts for critical KPIs and reporting issues
- Maintain documentation of report logic, definitions, and data structures for audit purposes
- Support structured release processes and maintain reporting environment stability
Requirements
Relevant qualification in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar
Proven experience in SQL development and reporting environments
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and reporting tools (SSRS or similar)
Experience working with ERP systems (SYSPRO preferred)
Advanced Excel skills (for transition and validation purposes)
Strong understanding of data structures, reporting logic, and KPI design
Ability to build dashboards and automated reporting solutions
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
