About the Role
The Procurement and Warehouse Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the purchasing activities of the organization. This includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing purchase orders, imports and exports, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services in line with company policies and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the procurement and warehouse controller in all daily tasks, including purchasing and issuing of stock.
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, delivery timelines, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate terms and contracts with vendors to obtain the best value.
- Review and approve purchase orders in line with budgetary and operational requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock to avoid shortages or excesses.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments (such as finance, operations, and logistics) to ensure procurement needs are met efficiently.
- Analyse market trends and assess risks related to supply chain and pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor performance.
- Prepare reports and forecasts for management on procurement activity and savings.
Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of imports and exports.
