About the Role

A reputable law firm in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Secretary to support its conveyancing department, providing administrative and technical expertise to ensure seamless transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing conveyancing files from inception to registration
  • Drafting conveyancing documents, reports, and correspondence
  • Handling transfers, bond registrations, and cancellations
  • Liaising with clients, banks, estate agents, municipalities, body corporates, and the Deeds Office
  • Obtaining rates and levy clearances and transfer duty receipts
  • Preparing guarantees and assisting with financial aspects of transactions
  • Arranging signing appointments and monitoring progress of matters
  • Attending to post-registration processes and file closure

Requirements

  • Matric
  • Conveyancing/paralegal qualification advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a conveyancing secretary
  • Proven experience in transfers, bond registrations, and cancellations
  • Knowledge of Deeds Office procedures and conveyancing systems
