About the Role
Sagen Advisory Recruitment Company is recruiting on behalf of a professional services client for a Tax Administrator / Junior Tax Assistant to join their Tax Department in their office in Bellville, Western Cape. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is looking to build a career in tax compliance and administration within a structured professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tax payment and refund correspondence for clients.
- Monitor tax payments, refunds, and assessments via SARS eFiling.
- Review and manage SARS correspondence and notifications.
- Assist with auto-assessment reviews and escalate discrepancies where necessary.
- Submit requests for extensions relating to SARS audits and verifications.
- Assist with income tax registrations and deregistrations where required.
- Process Tax Compliance Status (TCS) Pin applications.
- Update Registered Representative and Entity details on SARS systems.
- Process client banking detail updates on SARS eFiling.
- Communicate with clients to obtain documentation required for tax submissions.
- Prepare and distribute tax-related correspondence.
- Maintain organised electronic client files and records.
- Monitor tax compliance deadlines and follow up on outstanding documentation or submissions.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping will be advantageous but is not essential.
- 12 years experience in an administrative, accounting support, or tax administration role preferred.
- Exposure to SARS eFiling will be advantageous.
