About the Role
The candidate will be required to work within the clients Investment Team and undertake responsibilities relating to portfolio management and fundamental analysis. The role requires a candidate who is willing to work a dual function role in a compact team environment. The team expects the candidate to be both a team player and an independent intellectual committed to working with integrity and honesty.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain (and where necessary establish) effective and well-organized investment
- Write clear and well-informed investment recommendations based on thorough research and analysis including:
- Researching/analyzing financial information/trends
- Building clear financial models using Excel
- Documenting investment recommendations & decisions
- Organize regular investment reports and reviews, including quantitative and qualitative portfolio findings.
- Attend annual general meetings, review quarterly financial statements, and remain up to date with any important valuation or policy changes.
- Provide leadership insights towards the investment strategies managed in-house
- Perform regular administration duties of all investment
- Assist the Business Development and Client Services team in relation to:
- current client relationships related queries
- prospective client queries e., due diligence questionnaires and presentations
- Pro-active people management including recommendations for training and development and a focus on the development and retention of key team members.
Requirements
A degree in finance or a relevant field from an accredited South African or international institution. Holds at a minimum either a CA (SA), CFA, CAIA, CFP, or FRM designation an actuarial related background will be advantageous as well.
Qualifications
If a CFA Candidate: A minimum of CFA level II with a strong commitment to pass CFA Level III
