Cape Town Region: Direct Response Copywriter (Remote)

Job Description

We are a fast-growing influencer agency working with digital brands and online communities. We are looking for an experienced Direct Response Copywriter to build and optimize our backend communication systems and improve sales performance. In this role, you will be responsible for creating the communication frameworks our remote team uses every day. Your work will focus on writing high-converting scripts, structuring sales conversations, and building clear SOPs that improve consistency and results across the team. Key Responsibilities: Write direct-response scripts, conversational sales flows, and internal SOPs for the remote sales team. Create clear messaging guidelines and tone-of-voice frameworks for different brand profiles. Develop objection-handling responses and structured sales paths for lead conversion. Write promotional messages, follow-up sequences, and retention-focused communication campaigns. Continuously improve copy based on performance data, testing, and team feedback. Use AI tools to speed up copy production, improve workflows, and scale communication systems efficiently. Direct Response & Sales Expertise: Extensive experience as a Direct Response Copywriter. You have a deep understanding of sales psychology and know exactly how to structure copy to persuade readers, handle objections, and drive immediate actions or purchases. You dont just write well; you know how to sell with words. Native-Level English & US Cultural Fluency: C2/Native English proficiency is strictly required. You must have a profound understanding of American culture, consumer behavior, idioms, and conversational nuances so that all messaging feels 100% authentic to a US audience. Proven Track Record: Several years of hands-on professional experience in copywriting, specifically focusing on sales scripts, conversational commerce, direct messaging (DMs), or high-converting email marketing. Analytical & Logical Thinking: You possess strong logical reasoning skills. You approach copywriting systematically, building structured, step-by-step chat flows and sales funnels rather than just writing creatively. Autonomous & Proactive Work Ethic: You are a highly organized self-starter. You work independently, take full ownership of the backend communication systems, and deliver results without needing constant micromanagement. System & SOP Creation (Bonus but highly desired): Ability to break down complex sales strategies into clear, easy-to-follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training guidelines for our remote client communication team. AI Proficiency: Strong practical experience using AI tools (like Claude or ChatGPT) for prompt engineering, scaling copy variations, and optimizing backend workflows efficiently.
