About the Role
As our Reservationist, you are the voice, the detail guru, and the one who turns a simple enquiry into the beginning of an unforgettable stay at Mama Shelter Residences & Hotel I Cape Town. You balance precision with personality, sales with service, speed with care. Every booking you touch? Seamless, accurate, and full of Mama magic.
Key Responsibilities
- Booking Boss: Own every reservation and enquiry — capturing details perfectly, responding quickly, and making the process smooth from start to finish
- Revenue Driver: Maximise room nights and rates through smart selling, upselling, and cross-selling across Mama’s spaces
- Guest Experience Starter: Be the first impression of Mama — warm, engaging, and always ready to create excitement before arrival
- Detail & Systems Pro: Master OPERA and reservation systems to manage bookings, guest profiles, preferences, and history with precision
- Communication Queen/King: Respond to all enquiries with speed, accuracy, and personality — quotes, confirmations, and follow-ups done right
- Collaboration Ninja: Work closely with Front Office, Sales, and Revenue teams to ensure a seamless guest journey from booking to departure
- Accuracy Champion: Ensure every booking is complete, correct, and aligned with guest needs — no detail missed
- Problem Solver: Handle amendments, cancellations, and special requests with confidence and care
- Performance Focused: Drive occupancy, average rate, and upsell targets — always thinking commercially
- Trust Keeper: Protect guest data and confidentiality at all times, ensuring information is secure and handled with care
Requirements
- You have at least 3 years’ experience in Reservations within a hospitality environment
- You’re confident using OPERA and reservation systems
- You understand upselling and cross-selling and know how to do it naturally
- You’re highly organised, detail-driven, and accurate
- You communicate clearly and professionally — written and spoken
- You can work independently and take ownership of your role
