About the Role

As a Sales Executive at our 5* World Class Hotel in Cape Town, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and maximizing contribution from all producing segments through various sources. You will develop and coordinate marketing and promotional activities to enhance guest satisfaction and drive business results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and forecast hotel revenue for rooms, F&B outlets, and various segments
  • Create a work environment that fosters high employee morale, continuous learning & development, and utilizes ESS feedback to draw action plans
  • Develop systems and procedures for higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction
  • Recruit, manage, and perform appraisals of staff in the department
  • Develop and implement the annual plan using the TBEM framework, linking department objectives to unit strategy
  • Assist in developing overall strategic direction for hotel relaunch and growth, adopting a total Revenue Approach
  • Prepare forecasting tools and strategies to visualize market scenarios and develop long-range plans
  • Continuously measure program effectiveness and track trends in local and global markets
  • Build accurate and effective databases of current and potential guests/accounts
  • Maintain up-to-date information on competition’s performance, sales & marketing strategy, etc.
  • Propose room/F&B pricing strategy considering hotel’s market positioning, target customer, and desired mix
  • Develop comprehensive market mix guideline and ensure sales as per targets
  • Identify key customer needs through formal research, survey, sales calls, & meetings
  • Implement revenue management techniques to improve RevPAR
  • Coordinate with Front Office & F&B Manager on daily sales, VIPs, regulars, and other guest requirements
  • Coordinate with Credits Manager on credit limits and outstanding from various guests/corporate
  • Build relationships, network, and maintain regular contacts with corporate and individual customers, bookers, media, hoteliers, and socialites
  • Determine, design, and prioritize sales and marketing supportive activities to achieve revenue/profit targets for all revenue-generating departments
  • Control hotel’s distribution channels to ensure timely relevant information reaches its intended audience
  • Identify key communities, plan initiatives, and coordinate support activities
  • Ensure safe working practices that do not harm or injure self or others
  • Participate in Health & Safety within the department, ensuring compliance with directives
  • Anticipate possible hazards and conditions, correcting them or taking action to prevent occurrences
  • Maintain highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language, and conduct
  • Continuously improve department’s efficient operation and knowledge of own job function
  • Oversee and coordinate daily operations of the Reservation and Revenue Management function

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years sales experience in travel/tourism/hotel industry
  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Certificate or Diploma in Sales & Marketing or Hotel Management
  • Valid Drivers Licence and vehicle for day-to-day travel/appointments
  • 3 Years experience in a similar position
