Job Description

Purpose To supervise and coordinate all security operations within Viking Fishing, ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, vessels, facilities, equipment, products, and company assets. The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading security guards, enforcing security procedures, preventing losses, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Duties include but not limited to: Security Operations Supervise and coordinate daily security activities across company facilities, including offices, processing plants, warehouses, docks, and fishing vessels where applicable. Ensure effective access control for employees, contractors, visitors, and vehicles entering and leaving company premises. Conduct regular patrols and inspections to identify and address security risks. Monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarms, access control systems, and perimeter security measures. Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and breaches. Team Leadership Supervise, schedule, and allocate duties to Security Guards. Monitor staff attendance, performance, and conduct. Provide coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training to security personnel. Ensure security guards comply with company policies, procedures, and standards. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary or corrective actions when required. Incident Management Investigate security incidents, theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other violations. Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain security records. Liaise with law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and regulatory authorities when necessary. Recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence of incidents. Asset Protection Safeguard company property, fishing equipment, fuel, vehicles, vessels, and inventory. Monitor the movement of products and materials to prevent losses and unauthorized removal. Support stock control and loss prevention initiatives. Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with company security policies, health and safety requirements, and relevant legislation. Participate in emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response planning. Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification. Security industry certification and registration as required by local regulations. Minimum 35 years’ security experience, including supervisory experience. Experience in industrial, maritime, fisheries, manufacturing, or logistics environments preferred. Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV operations, and incident investigation procedures.
