This is a remote position.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Event Specialist to join our network as a freelance/contract partner in a collaborative partnership, where your expertise directly drives your earnings. You will operate with high autonomy, managing events as your own business ventures within our brand framework and leveraging premium venues across Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Constantia.
Based in Cape Town, you will lead the planning, execution, and promotion of high-profile events on a profit-share basis, bringing deep knowledge of the Western Cape hospitality landscape and a proven ability to drive attendance through social media and influencer partnerships. In return, you receive a significant percentage of net profits with earning potential based on your performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality, or related field. CMP designation is a plus.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transport (essential)
- 5+ years of progressive event management experience in the Cape Town /Winelands region.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, high-budget events with P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing and promoting events across various channels, including proven success managing influencer partnerships and social media campaigns.
- Established relationships with vendors and local influencers/content creators in the region is highly desirable.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
- Ability to travel regularly within Cape Town and surrounding Winelands
- Physically able to assist with event setup and breakdown when required
- Own laptop and access to necessary tools/software for freelance work
Work Condition:
- Flexible hours based on event schedules, including weekends (essential for weddings and markets) and evenings.
- Extensive travel throughout the Cape Winelands, Cape Town CBD, and surrounding areas.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weight during event setup and breakdown.

Strategic Planning & Venue Curation

Develop event strategies for weddings, corporate events, and lifestyle markets

Secure premium venues across Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Constantia

Consult with stakeholders to create immersive Winelands experiences
Event Management

Weddings: Luxury celebrations at wine estates

Markets: Artisanal markets, vendor recruitment, operations

Corporate: Retreats, product launches, team-building events
Marketing & Influencer Strategy

Execute marketing campaigns to maximize attendance and profitability

Manage influencer partnerships: identify, negotiate, coordinate, and track ROI

Tailor marketing by event type (weddings, markets, corporate)
Financial Management

Own P&L (R50,000R500,000+), including marketing and influencer budgets

Negotiate vendor terms to protect profit margins

Identify sponsorships, upselling, and pricing opportunities

Analyze financial data and calculate profit share
Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Cultivate vendor partnerships (wine farms, florists, rentals, artisans)

Lead RFP processes and liaise with speakers, sponsors, and VIPs
On-Site Command

Lead event execution: logistics, troubleshooting (weather, load-shedding)

Oversee staff, vendors, and security

Ensure seamless influencer experience on-site
Post-Event Analysis

Consolidate data, metrics, and financials into reports

Use insights to refine strategies and maximize profitability

Compensation

Profit Share: 3050% of net profits per event (revenue minus direct event costs: venues, catering, marketing, influencer fees, staffing, etc.)
