About the Role
Our client, a leader in the flexible packaging industry, is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join their team based in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics and mechanical maintenance, with experience working on high-speed machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Electricians with electronics breakdowns
- PLC fault finding on various equipment
- Liaise with OEM in resolving equipment failures
- Carry out planned maintenance as per inspection
- Complete breakdown and planned maintenance job cards
- Respond to service requests from production on presentation of works order
- Coach operators and Apprentices on best operating practices
- Ensure compliance with environmental requirements
Requirements
- Matric with Maths pass
- Diploma in Mechatronics, Electronics
- Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage
- Apprenticeship training, preferably 3-4 years
- Successfully completed trade test as artisan
- General factory maintenance on high-speed machines for 5 years, or preferably experience on paper sack converting and printing machinery for a similar period
- Working experience on Flexo, Gravure, and Lamination machines
- Vast experience on Siemens drives, Lenze drives, and PLC
