Job Description

Reports To: Managing Director Purpose of the Role: The Aftermarket and Projects Manager is responsible for leading and growing the company’s aftermarket business, including service operations, spare parts sales, maintenance contracts, repairs, service support to rentals, and customer support activities. The role focuses on maximizing customer uptime, driving revenue and profitability, improving customer satisfaction, and overseeing and growing the projects component of the aftermarket business. Minimum requirements: Diploma in Engineering, Business Management, Commerce, or related field. Minimum 1015 years of experience in aftermarket, service, operations, or commercial management. Air compressor industry experience advantageous. Experience within industrial equipment, mining, construction, compressors, power generation, or related sectors preferred. Proven track record of growing aftermarket revenue and profitability. Strong understanding of service operations, spare parts management, and customer support. Identify new business opportunities within existing and target customer accounts. Increase aftermarket revenue through service contracts, spare parts sales, upgrades, rebuilds, and value-added solutions. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities. Establish annual sales, revenue, and profitability targets for the aftermarket business. Develop customer retention and customer lifecycle management programs. Projects: Lead planning, execution and delivery of aftermarket projects. Develop project opportunities including upgrades, expansions, rebuilds and modernization initiatives. Develop project proposals and cost estimates. Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control and profitability. Ensure project risk management and reporting. Monitor project progress and provide status updates. Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements. Maintain relationships with customers, contractors and suppliers. Drive continuous improvement in project execution. Support turnkey aftermarket solutions. Service Operations Management: Lead and manage the service department. Oversee field service, workshop repairs, commissioning and maintenance activities. Ensure service delivery meets customer expectations. Monitor productivity, utilization, response times and quality standards. Drive continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards. Parts Business Management Develop strategies to grow spare parts and consumables sales. Optimize inventory levels. Monitor stock turns, margins and forecasting accuracy. Improve parts availability and lead times. Increase genuine parts penetration. Financial Management: Manage the aftermarket budget and financial performance. Deliver revenue, margin and profitability targets. Analyse financial performance and implement corrective actions. Monitor pricing strategies. Prepare regular business performance reports. Customer Relationship Management Develop strong relationships with key customers. Conduct customer visits and business reviews. Manage customer satisfaction initiatives. Promote long-term service agreements. Enhance customer loyalty through proactive support. Leadership and People Management: Lead, coach and develop service, parts and support teams. Foster a high-performance culture. Establish performance objectives and development plans. Ensure succession planning and talent development.
