About the Role
Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Production Planner to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our supply chain management team, you will be responsible for planning and optimizing production processes to achieve world-class levels of delivery performance and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and monitor production against the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for all levels of production through to component level.
- Measure performance and adjust production plan to suit breakdowns, un-forecast sales, etc.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports on adherence to production plan.
- Support the development of capacity planning systems for all areas of the plant.
- Schedule planned maintenance and major repairs affecting the production plan.
- Schedule and monitor changeovers within the production plan (including change-over sequence, jig changes, etc.).
- Monitor and plan backorders to satisfy customer requirements.
- Convert sales forecast into production plan.
- Create and monitor works orders driving the production plan.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure agreed minimum stock levels are maintained.
- Plan and review minimum Work In Process (WIP) levels.
- Publish critical reports such as Back-order ageing, Open orders without stock, progress on key special addition programmes, etc.
Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12
- National Diploma/Degree: Production Planning/Operations/Production Management Experiential
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within Production (preferably Automotive)
- Syspro use and understanding
- ERP/MRP training and courses
- Syspro experience preferred
