About the Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction for all projects from development through construction to handover, ensuring successful project execution in line with business, operational, and contractual commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all projects from development through construction to handover.
- Establish and maintain robust project governance, reporting, and decision-making frameworks.
- Serve as the primary interface with clients, teams, department heads, and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution across all phases.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical, commercial, safety, and schedule risks.
- Ensure strong commercial understanding of the project and contract requirements.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are understood, managed and aligned with the project strategy.
- Oversee cost control, budget adherence, and commercial risk mitigation.
- Lead the project team to safely deliver a project within schedule and budget.
- Contribute actively to building and strengthening the project’s safety culture.
- Lead and manage the team the Projects team to ensure alignment and delivery on project goals.
- Mentor and develop team members, using local and past project knowledge to bring lessons learned and improve project performance.
- Build strong customer relationships to ensure smooth project execution.
- Manage and resolve project issues or roadblocks promptly.
- Drive reporting and internal visibility for all projects to create insight led clarity across the business.
Requirements
- Qualification in Project Management or equivalent is advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager and leading teams
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on managing large projects with a strong focus on construction or energy projects
- Renewable energy sector and Southern Africa experience is advantageous
