Responsibilities
Contract Review and Drafting
-
Review, draft, and amend contracts, NDAs, and terms and conditions.

Negotiate contractual terms with customers and suppliers in line with company policy.

Ensure compliance with South African legislation and internal standards.
-
Maintain contract templates, registers, and supporting documentation.
Debt Collection and Asset Recovery
-
Administer the debtor collection process from demand letters to litigation.
-
Implement and oversee asset preservation measures during legal processes.
-
Coordinate with sheriffs, attorneys, and recovery agents to ensure effective asset recovery and repossession.
-
Maintain accurate records of debtor accounts and collection actions.
Legal Advisory and Compliance Support
-
Provide legal guidance on contractual rights, obligations, and risks.
-
Monitor changes in legislation and advise management of impacts on the business.
-
Assist with legal compliance processes, governance policies, and regulatory requirements.

Liaise with external legal advisors to ensure cost-effective outcomes
Requirements
-
LLB degree, paralegal qualification, or equivalent legal training.
-
35 years experience in contract administration, legal support, or debt collection.
-
Exposure to the leasing industry with knowledge of asset-based agreements and recovery procedures.

Knowledge of commercial law, debt collection legislation, and repossession processes.

Strong drafting and negotiation skills with proven commercial acumen.

Strong organisational and administrative ability.
-
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Confident communicator with negotiation and dispute-handling skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
