Job Description
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Rewinder operation
Produces correct size reels with good reel build and minimum breaks
- Ensure enough ancillaries and paper for rewinder operation
- Checks that all ancillaries used are of acceptable quality
- Does not make reels with more breaks than allowed by relevant standard
- Operates crane to transport reels and shafts to and from the rewinder
- Operate clamp truck to bring reels to rewinder and take finish goods reels to staging area
- Ensure paper is rewound under correct tension
- Visually checks quality of paper to ensure no deviations from standard
- Achieves required production rates without compromising on quality or producing excessive rejects material
- Record keeping
All necessary production records are completed
- All required details of the rewinder production run are recorded neatly and signed off at the end of the shift
- Housekeeping
Rewinder and surrounding area kept clean
- Periodically cleans the rewinder and surrounding area
- Maintenance
The rewinder and associated equipment is maintained in a safe and efficient condition
- Attends to all autonomous maintenance.
- Reports any maintenance required to team leader
- Health and safety
No accidents, injuries or incidents occur resulting in or having the potential to result in loss to the company or fellow workers
- Adheres to all company rules, safe work procedures and internal departmental procedures concerning health and safety
- Reports to team leader any defects or incidents noticed that are unsafe or might result in an accident or unnecessary loss
- Teamwork
Participates as a shift team member
- Co-operate with team leader and fellow shift team members
- Follows all reasonable and lawful instructions received from team leader and/or senior managers
