Purpose of the Position;
The IWT Specialist’s most important duty is to be Technical Support and a Subject Matter Expert to the team, specifically in the field. This role is responsible for advising, supporting and supervising welding processes within a technical organisation. This position requires in-depth knowledge of welding methods, materials and international standards, with the specialist acting as a link between management, the workshop and external parties such as inspection bodies. The IWT Specialist ensures the quality of welding work, leads a team, analyses technical problems and plays an active role in the development of employees. Efficient planning, clear communication and a high level of accuracy are essential in this role.
Duties:
- Advising on welding methods, material selection and welding procedures.
- Drafting and approving Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with international welding standards (ISO, EN, ASME).
- Daily supervision of approximately 5 FTE in the workshop.
- Planning work activities and monitoring progress.
- Analyzing welding defects and proposing corrective actions.
- Training and supporting welders and staff.

Requirements:
- International Welding Technologist (IWT) diploma
- Level II Penetrant Testing (PT) certificate preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience
- Experience with welding activities in the field or on location on pipes and tanks
