Job Description
- Assisting with the day-to-day control and coordination of workshop activities.
- Allocating work fairly and effectively to technicians and apprentices.
- Monitoring repair quality and ensuring work is completed to required standards.
- Maximising workshop productivity and labour utilisation.
- Ensuring all parts, materials and consumables are accurately recorded for invoicing.
- Tracking job progress and ensuring efficient turnaround times.
- Supporting technician development through coaching and training.
- Maintaining workshop discipline, safety compliance and housekeeping standards.
- Overseeing the correct use and care of workshop equipment, tools and diagnostic systems.
- Liaising with customers and internal departments to resolve technical and service-related matters.
- Ensuring repair orders, defect coding and workshop documentation are completed accurately.
- Managing supplier and sublet repair relationships to ensure quality, cost control and timely delivery.
- Safeguarding customer vehicles, workshop assets and company property.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years plus experience in a Workshop Foreman, Senior Technician, Team Leader or Assistant Workshop Controller role.
- Diagnostic skills/ability.
- Strong technical automotive knowledge and diagnostic ability.
- Technician qualification – Red Seal.
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team of technicians.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Sound understanding of workshop administration and job card processes.
- Ability to handle customer concerns professionally and effectively.
- Knowledge of workshop health and safety regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Autoline or similar DMS knowledge
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Clear Criminal record.
