About the Role
Working in a luxury Big 5 safari lodge environment with international guests and private safari experiences, we are seeking an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our high-pressure and fast-paced culinary team. This dynamic role offers exposure to high-end culinary operations and opportunities for professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present exquisite pastries and desserts in a luxury hospitality setting
- Assist the Head Pastry Chef with menu planning, production, and presentation
- Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency in all pastry dishes
- Work closely with the events team to create bespoke dessert options for special occasions
- Collaborate with other kitchen teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Sous Chef in a luxury hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of classical French patisserie techniques and modern dessert design
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays
Qualifications
- Formal education in culinary arts or related field (e.g. Baking and Pastry Arts)
