About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Endoscope Technician to join our team in Johannesburg. As a technical authority, you will be responsible for ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and patient safety in our endoscope repair and rebuild operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections and validate the repair scope
- Execute full internal repairs and complete rebuilds of endoscopes
- Conduct advanced diagnostics and root cause failure analysis
- Perform calibration, alignment, and functional validation
- Carry out final inspection and approve devices for release
- Ensure that all repairs meet quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior technicians
- Drive continuous improvement in repair quality, turnaround time, and cost efficiency
- Maintain accurate and detailed technical documentation
- Act as the escalation point for complex repair issues
- Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality requirements
Requirements
- National Diploma in Biomedical or Clinical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Certification in major endoscope repair and rebuild (preferred)
Qualifications
- 35 years of experience in endoscope repair, including complex repairs
- Proven experience in full disassembly, internal repair, and rebuild of flexible endoscopes
