Johannesburg North: Actuarial Analyst posted by Communicate Finance

Actuarial & Technical Responsibilities:
Perform reserving calculations and regulatory capital reporting for Guardrisk Life Limited
Maintain allocated cell client models for IFRS 4 and IFRS 17 reserves
Maintain allocated client models for SAM SCR and Technical Provisions
Participate in the ORSA process for allocated clients
Assist with capital management and regulatory compliance
 
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage directly with clients on balance sheet management matters
Assist in regulatory return preparation and respond to regulatory queries
Engage with internal and external stakeholders on accountable areas
 
Projects, Systems & Process Improvement:
Contribute to BSM Life software development and process automation initiatives
Support IFRS 17 implementation as part of a multi-disciplinary project team
Exposure primarily to South African clients, with involvement in Mauritian life operations
 
Skills & Experience:
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Knowledge of life insurance reserving and capital frameworks
IFRS 4, IFRS 17, SAM and ORSA exposure
Stakeholder and client communication skills
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science (Required)
Newly qualified actuary or making strong progress toward Fellowship
Minimum 3–6 years’ actuarial experience, preferably within life insurance
