Johannesburg: FACILITIES & IT SUPPORT

Job Description

1.1 Assist in the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of office spaces, warehouses, and common areas. 1.2 Coordinate repairs and servicing (plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, general maintenance). 1.3 Manage office supplies, furniture, and equipment, ensuring everything is in working order. 1.4 Support with facility-related projects, including office moves, renovations, and space planning. 1.5 Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and proactively address issues. 1.6 Work with vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance and facility needs. 1.7 Log and manage IT support tickets, ensuring proper escalation to the Managed Services Provider (MSP) when needed. 1.8 Assist with basic troubleshooting (printers, desktops, connectivity issues). 1.9 Set up and maintain office IT equipment, such as workstations and network devices. 1.10 Monitor IT asset tracking, ensuring proper documentation of equipment and maintain the Company asset register. 1.11 Support with network connectivity checks and report issues for escalation. 1.12 Provide remote and on-site assistance for facility and IT-related matters at our Cape Town and Pietermaritzburg branches. 1.13 Occasionally travel to these locations for scheduled maintenance and issue resolution. 1.14 Ad hoc tasks as and when necessary. SKILLS AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: 1 Excellent written and oral communication skills. 2 Friendly, outgoing and great interpersonal skills. 3 Strong organisational and time management skills. 4 Strong ability to plan and think pro-actively. REQUIRED PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES 1 Eager to learn and grow within the role. 2 Hands-on problem solver with a proactive mindset. 3 Comfortable managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively. 4 Able to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues. 5 Willing to travel occasionally between branches as needed Strong communication and coordination skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 1 Matric Certificate. 2 Basic IT qualification or relevant facilities related certification, preferred. 3 Some exposure to facilities management, IT support, or office administration (formal experience is not required, but preferred). 4 Basic understanding of building maintenance, vendor coordination, and office operations. 5 Familiarity with IT troubleshooting (ticketing systems, setting up workstations, resolving minor IT issues), preferred. 6 Previous exposure to a multi-branch work environment.
