Job Description

Key Responsibilities Food Safety & Quality Systems Implement, maintain, and verify food safety, hygiene, sanitation, pest control, waste management, foreign object control, and environmental monitoring programs. Conduct quality inspections, sampling, trend analysis, cleaning verifications, and microbiological testing to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Develop and conduct internal audits, support external audits, and maintain audit readiness. Manage quality documentation, records, specifications, HACCP plans, allergen controls, and related quality systems. Monitor compliance with food safety standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Quality Control & Compliance Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to ensure product quality and food safety. Investigate customer complaints, non-conformances, audit findings, and quality incidents, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions. Monitor product, process, environmental, and raw material quality through testing and verification activities. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards including HACCP and FSSC. Projects & Continuous Improvement Support new product development, product trials, process improvements, and product launches. Assist with the development and implementation of product specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. Analyse quality data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance operational performance. Team Leadership Supervise and develop the Quality Control team. Coordinate training, performance management, attendance, and employee relations within the department. Promote a strong food safety and quality culture across the business. SHEQ Ensure compliance with SHEQ, food safety, hygiene, PPE, and Occupational Health & Safety requirements at all times. Minimum Requirements Tertiary Qualification in Food Technology / Food Science 12 years’ technical experience within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment. Supervisory experience will be advantageous. Knowledge of HACCP, food safety systems, quality assurance, auditing, and regulatory compliance. Strong analytical, report writing, computer literacy, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
