Job Description

Our client, a reputable organisation operating within the waste management and industrial solutions space, is looking for a commercially astute Finance Manager to join their team. The business is focused on innovative, sustainable waste solutions and operates in a dynamic, operationally intensive environment.

In this role, you will take ownership of the full finance function while leading a team of 4 direct and 4 indirect reports. You will be instrumental in ensuring financial integrity, overseeing reporting processes, and supporting business decisions through accurate and insightful financial data.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working close to operations and wants to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation making a tangible environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities
Preparation and review of management accounts
Oversight and approval of payments
Management of intercompany transactions and reconciliations
General ledger and reconciliations
Financial reporting and compliance
Budgeting and forecasting
Tax and statutory submissions
Leading and developing a finance team
Strengthening financial controls and improving processes
Partnering with operations to support strategic and commercial decision-making

Job Experience and Skills Required
Qualification: BCom Degree (essential); CIMA or CA(SA) advantageous
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance role, including team management
Industry Exposure: Experience within waste management, manufacturing, engineering, or similar off-site/operational environments is highly advantageous
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
