About the Role
Gijima Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Midrand. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network environments, a strong technical background, and excellent communication skills. As a RCNI Certified professional, you will be responsible for providing second-line support for network incidents and service requests escalated from Level 1.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide second-line support for network incidents and service requests escalated from Level 1.
- Troubleshoot and resolve LAN, WAN, and wireless network issues.
- Configure and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, and access points.
- Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues.
- Implement and support routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP – basic level).
- Perform network changes, upgrades, and patching in line with change management processes.
- Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and inventory.
- Support VPN solutions and remote site connectivity.
- Ensure network security policies, standards, and best practices are applied.
- Assist with planning and implementation of new network projects.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements and technical support.
- Provide after-hours/on-call support as required for critical network issues.
- Mentor and support Level 1 engineers to build team capability.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF 4)
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma qualifications in ICT field will be an advantage.

- Ruckus Network – RCNI (RUCKUS Certified Networking Implementer)
