About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a dynamic and commercially driven Relationship Manager to join a reputable banking institution in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives on building strong client relationships, driving business growth, and contributing to strategic initiatives within a high-performance banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively drive business growth across deposits, advances, foreign exchange, and overall profitability
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within targeted markets locally and nationally
- Build, manage, and strengthen long-term client relationships
- Promote the banks international capabilities, particularly within foreign trade and investment
- Lead, mentor, and support Relationship Officers across branches to ensure alignment with business objectives and culture
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including new branch development and business expansion
- Support the development and rollout of new banking products and services
- Ensure accurate and timely operational and financial reporting
- Maintain strict adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements
- Uphold and enhance the banks brand and reputation in the market
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance “working together” culture
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree)
- RE5 certification
- Minimum of 8 years experience within a banking environment
- Proven track record in business development and client relationship management
