About the Role

As a Sewing Line Supervisor at Fouche & Co Recruitment, you will play a critical role in overseeing all operations on the sewing line, ensuring materials are processed accurately and efficiently to meet production schedules and maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the sewing team and the full upholstery production line to meet output targets.
  • Assign tasks and manage team performance to ensure high levels of efficiency and accountability.
  • Manage material availability, including fabric, thread, and patterns, to prevent any production downtime.
  • Enforce strict adherence to quality standards to minimize material waste and rework.
  • Conduct in-process and visual inspections of sewn products to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Coordinate with Cutting, Upholstery, and Planning teams to maintain smooth inter-departmental workflows.
  • Provide accurate hourly production updates to the planning department.
  • Manage the urgent completion of repairs within a 2–3 hour window on the same day.
  • Monitor staff attendance, timekeeping, and work area absence to maintain consistent productivity.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations, including the correct usage of PPE and safe machine operation.

Requirements

  • Matric certificate.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a sewing department.
  • Deep knowledge of sewing techniques and upholstery production processes.
  • A strong understanding of production line management and workflow optimization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience is highly advantageous.

Qualifications

No formal education or certifications are required for this role.

Salary & Benefits

R10 000 – R12 000 monthly.
