About the Role
As a Sewing Line Supervisor at Fouche & Co Recruitment, you will play a critical role in overseeing all operations on the sewing line, ensuring materials are processed accurately and efficiently to meet production schedules and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the sewing team and the full upholstery production line to meet output targets.
- Assign tasks and manage team performance to ensure high levels of efficiency and accountability.
- Manage material availability, including fabric, thread, and patterns, to prevent any production downtime.
- Enforce strict adherence to quality standards to minimize material waste and rework.
- Conduct in-process and visual inspections of sewn products to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Coordinate with Cutting, Upholstery, and Planning teams to maintain smooth inter-departmental workflows.
- Provide accurate hourly production updates to the planning department.
- Manage the urgent completion of repairs within a 2–3 hour window on the same day.
- Monitor staff attendance, timekeeping, and work area absence to maintain consistent productivity.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, including the correct usage of PPE and safe machine operation.
Requirements
- Matric certificate.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a sewing department.
- Deep knowledge of sewing techniques and upholstery production processes.
- A strong understanding of production line management and workflow optimization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous supervisory experience is highly advantageous.
Qualifications
No formal education or certifications are required for this role.
Salary & Benefits
R10 000 – R12 000 monthly.
