About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Buyer with a strong background in Accounts Payable to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and procurement processes within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchase orders, supplier relationships, and procurement activities
- Forecast purchasing requirements based on production schedules and stock levels
- Analyse supplier costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Manage pricing, PPVs, and supplier quotations
- Prepare weekly spend reports and monthly supplier cost analyses
- Coordinate deliveries and arrange transport where required
- Develop supplier relationships and evaluate alternative supplier options
- Manage subcontracting processes and negotiate pricing
- Maintain accurate pricing and purchasing information on SAP
- Manage SAP reporting for stock items and Coupa reporting for non-stock items
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding Accounts Payable queries
- Work closely with Production and Planning teams to ensure continuity of supply
Requirements
- SAP experience is ESSENTIAL
- Coupa experience is advantageous
- 3 5 years’ experience in Purchasing / Procurement within a manufacturing environment
- Strong Accounts Payable / Creditors experience
- Proven supplier management and negotiation skills
- Advanced Excel and reporting capability
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
