About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing creditors, debtors, VAT, financials, and cash flow, with hands-on experience in Xero accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, reconcile and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and collections.
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support the senior team in compiling accurate financial records.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Ensure all tax filings and financial activities comply with statutory regulations.
- Support in preparing and reviewing costing models and budgets.
- Monitor actual spending vs. budget and report variances.
- Track daily cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity.
- Assist in forecasting future cash requirements.
- Participate in periodic stock takes and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate stock records.
- Assist in payroll processing and managing payee records.
- Daily usage of Xero for transaction recording, reconciliations, and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certifications (Preferred): SAIPA, SAICA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience.
