About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising the packing of fruit, ensuring efficient operations with approximately 340 seasonal and 20 permanent workers. This role requires strong planning, organization, and leadership skills to oversee various aspects of the packing process, including sorting, packaging, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and supervise the total packing operation
* Supervise the sorting of fruits
* Plan, organize, and manage the packing of fruits for both local and export markets
* Maintain and update inventory of packaging materials
* Coordinate with production teams to ensure efficient workflow
* Conduct quality control over packed fruits, including coordination with PPECB, export agents, and local marketers
* Receive and unload packed fruits from Lanko Coolers
* Distribute surplus fruits into crates and deliver to coolers or Granor Passi
* Plan and implement maintenance of equipment and facilities
* Monitor the condition of equipment and ensure proper functioning
* Conduct routine inspections and plan for maintenance with the maintenance supervisor
* Maintain accurate records of inventory and supplies
* Coordinate with HR department to plan employee training needs
* Develop and manage employee training programs
* Coordinate with HR department to plan employee benefits and performance evaluations
* Plan and implement employee health and safety initiatives

* Ability to supervise and motivate a team of 20 permanent workers and approximately 340 seasonal workers
* Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
* Strong communication and coordination skills with various stakeholders
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
* Basic knowledge of inventory management and supply chain operations
