About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Technologist to join our East London office, where you will be responsible for conducting condition assessments, planning and administering contracts, and designing mechanical building services. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in building services projects and engineering projects, as well as proficiency in BIM software.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct condition assessments of mechanical installations and provide detailed reports
- Plan, design, and administer contracts from inception to completion for building services and engineering projects
- Compile and deliver comprehensive reports at all project stages
- Manage the day-to-day administration associated with active projects
- Design mechanical building services including HVAC & Refrigeration and Wet Services, Lifts systems
- Design mechanical elements of water and waste water infrastructure projects, including pump stations, rising mains, and pipeline systems
- Design fire protection systems including sprinkler, hydrant, and hose reel installations
- Prepare Bills of Quantities, Technical Specifications
- Administer mechanical engineering contracts and act as the Engineer’s Representative as defined by the contract terms
- Provide construction oversight, ensure quality control, and facilitate the clarification of design-related issues
- Monitor construction progress to guarantee design adherence and quality and expedite design clarifications as needed
- Address technical queries, resolve issues, and lead site and technical meetings, including preparing meeting minutes
- Review contractors’ Quality Control Plans and Construction Method Statements to ensure compliance and quality
- Prepare payment valuations and measure mechanical installations
- Maintain frequent communication with all project professionals and clients
- Assist in resolving technical queries in collaboration with other stakeholders
- Support project safety and environmental compliance throughout the construction phase
- Undertake general office and project-related administrative tasks as required
Requirements
- Possess at least a B.Eng, B.Sc(Eng), or B.Tech Eng. Degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering
- Have between two (2) and five (5) years of post-graduate experience
- Demonstrate experience in the design and management of building services projects and engineering projects
- Have experience in building service projects, including HVAC, Wet Services, Fire Protection and Lifts
