About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronic Technician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical/Electronics/IT related fields and excellent technical skills to support the efficient operation of our toll collection equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting daily and monthly inspections of all toll collection equipment, traffic management peripherals within the Toll Plaza
- Ensure that all TCE systems are adequately maintained as per procedures and client requirements
- Attend to minor breakdowns and respond to queries timeously
- Install new equipment, replacement of old equipment and repairs in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company procedure
- Read and interpret schematic and technical drawings
- Report all incidents in the prescribed manner
- Keep record of work done
- Provide support and assistance to other departments as and when required to ensure customer service satisfaction and efficiency
- Ensure tools are kept in a good and clean working order
- Comply with all rules, regulations, as well as maintenance policies and procedures of the company
- Perform overtime and standby duties as required
- Assist with overseeing and managing ad hoc projects as and when required
Requirements
- NQF level 5 or higher in Electrical / Electronics / IT related field
- At least 3 years related experience
- Valid Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License
- Knowledgeable on: MIS Electronic Toll Collection System, Industrial Networking, PLC experience (advantageous)
- Understanding operation and maintenance manuals
- SHEQ compliance and good workmanship practices

- Formal education/certifications in Electrical/Electronics/IT related field (if applicable)
