? Group Training Chef ? East Africa ? Luxury Safari Lodge Group ? Salary: Negotiable DOE ? Live-In Position Kendrick Recruitment is currently hiring a Group Training Chef for a prestigious luxury safari lodge collection operating across East Africa. This unique role is ideal for a highly experienced culinary professional with a passion for mentorship, skills development, and maintaining exceptional culinary standards across multiple properties. The successful candidate will work closely with Executive Chefs, Head Chefs, and kitchen teams to implement training programmes, elevate culinary standards, develop talent, and ensure consistency throughout the group’s portfolio of luxury lodges and camps. Requirements: Formal Culinary Qualification from a recognised institution Minimum 8 years experience within luxury hospitality kitchens Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, or Culinary Trainer Strong knowledge of fine dining, safari lodge operations, and international culinary trends Proven experience in staff training, mentoring, and skills development Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management systems Ability to travel extensively between properties across East Africa Strong administrative and reporting skills Passion for developing culinary talent and operational excellence Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement culinary training programmes across the lodge portfolio Assess kitchen operations and identify training and development opportunities Mentor and coach Head Chefs, Sous Chefs, and kitchen teams Standardise recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards across all properties Conduct practical kitchen training, demonstrations, and assessments Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and operational standards Support new lodge openings, kitchen launches, and culinary projects Assist with menu development and innovation aligned with brand standards Monitor food quality, guest satisfaction, and consistency across properties Develop training manuals, SOPs, and culinary development frameworks Identify high-potential team members and support succession planning initiatives Collaborate with operational leaders to continuously improve culinary performance Candidate Profile: Passionate mentor with a genuine desire to develop people Highly skilled culinary professional with luxury hospitality experience Strong leader who inspires excellence through coaching and example Adaptable and comfortable working across diverse cultures and environments Organised, disciplined, and detail-oriented Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills Committed to delivering world-class culinary experiences across multiple properties Please note that only suitable candidates will be contacted.
