About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the opening of a brand-new 140-seater restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya on October 1st, 2026. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, driven by excellence, and capable of building a kitchen operation from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full setup and launch of the kitchen operation
- Design and develop innovative, high-quality menus
- Implement and manage kitchen systems, procedures, and standards
- Conduct accurate food costing and maintain budget controls
- Recruit; train, and lead a high-performing kitchen team
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and service delivery
- Maintain strict hygiene, health, and safety standards
Requirements
- At least 3 years experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior role within a comparable environment
- A recognized hospitality or culinary qualification
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong skills in menu development, food costing, and kitchen systems design
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication abilities
- High attention to detail
