About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Journey Specialist to join our Luxury Inbound DMC team in Cape Town, where you will be responsible for managing and completing booking confirmations with accuracy and financial health. As a key member of our team, you will foster strong relationships with Travel Designers and Operations Specialists, delivering exceptional service and building trust-based partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Reservations Manager on booking issues and manage all changes and developments to ensure perfect client trips.
  • Build relationships with operations specialists based on trust and support, staying informed of business trends and guest needs.
  • Attend ad hoc familiarisation trips as required.
  • Handle Accommodation, transfer & touring bookings.
  • Ensure all booking details are accurate and up-to-date in confirmation emails (flight details, times, hotels, guides).
  • Provide relevant paperwork for guides ahead of time (guide itinerary, budget sheet, feedback forms, vouchers).
  • Respond to queries from Agents and Direct clients on various matters (activities, routes, restaurants, vehicles, sites, lost items).
  • Maintain booking files with agent correspondence, AP correspondence, costings, invoices & credit notes.
  • Ensure all documents are in order.

Requirements

  • Matric certificate
  • Tertiary certificate in Travel & Tourism/hospitality is advantageous
  • 2 years experience in handling customer relationships and developing/promoting product and building journeys in the inbound travel industry
  • In-depth knowledge of South Africa, specifically Cape Town, Garden Route & Safari Destinations and Southern Africa
  • Personal or educational travel experience in the above areas is advantageous
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word)
  • Proven English literacy
  • Working knowledge of TourPlan and WETU or similar booking/operating system
