About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer Automotive / Vehicle Fleet Manager to oversee our diverse fleet of vehicles essential to our sugarcane agriculture operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient and effective management of our automotive agricultural assets, optimizing their performance and reliability to support our operational objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a large fleet of vehicles including trucks, tractors, harvesters, and other specialized agricultural machinery.
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of our automotive assets.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to prioritize vehicle servicing and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections and performance evaluations of vehicles, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
- Lead a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to uphold the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
- Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to ensure the availability of spare parts and consumables necessary for vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing vehicle operations and maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive engineering, preferably within the agricultural or transportation sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and components, with expertise in diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive and hands-on approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with fleet management software and systems for monitoring and tracking vehicle performance.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
