Springs: Senior IT Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Technician to join our team in Springs, who can provide top-notch technical support and troubleshooting services to our clients. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and networks, and providing exceptional user support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general IT support and troubleshooting services to clients
• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze data and resolve issues
• Develop and implement SQL solutions, including writing stored procedures and reports
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook applications
• Manage and maintain networking infrastructure, including industrial environments and operational systems
• Work independently and under pressure to resolve complex technical issues
• Provide excellent communication and user-support skills to clients
• Travel between Springs and Delmas as required
• Be available for support calls at any time, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

Requirements

• Strong general IT support and troubleshooting experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong SQL knowledge, including writing stored procedures and reports
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Strong networking knowledge
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication and user-support skills

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport (4×4 or 2×4 advantageous)
• High quality home internet line required for after-hours access
• Willingness to travel between Springs and Delmas
• Willingness to take support calls at any time, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

• Experience with Sage Evolution ERP and strong accounting and financial systems understanding
• Experience with MES systems and system integrations
• Knowledge of APIs and SDK integrations

• Feedlot, agricultural, abattoir, or manufacturing industry experience
• Hardware repair and maintenance experience
• Experience with industrial environments and operational systems

Education

• Business degrees (BCom Informatics, BCom Accounting, BCom Actuarial Science) preferred

IT Qualifications

• CompTIA A Certification
• CompTIA Network Certification
• Relevant IT support or systems administration certifications
• Microsoft-related certifications (SQL, database, reporting, or BI)
• Networking and infrastructure certifications
