About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Wine Supervisor to join a luxury safari camp in Thabazimbi, where you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a high-end hospitality environment. With a strong background in wine service and cellar management, you will oversee the wine service programme, manage wine stock, and curate wine lists and pairings.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the wine service programme, ensuring it complements the camp’s dining experiences
- Manage wine stock, including ordering, receiving, rotation, and accurate record keeping
- Curate wine lists and pairings in collaboration with the culinary team
- Host wine tastings and educate guests on the wine selection and pairings
- Train and guide service staff in wine knowledge, presentation, and service standards
- Ensure the wine cellar is well organised, secure, and maintained to the highest standards
- Monitor sales, track revenue, and support the achievement of beverage targets
- Maintain relationships with wine suppliers and identify opportunities to enhance the wine offering
Requirements
Previous experience in a luxury lodge, boutique hotel, or fine dining environment in a similar role. Strong knowledge of South African and international wines, with the ability to pair wines effectively with menus. A relevant wine qualification (e.g. WSET or Cape Wine Academy) is highly advantageous.
