About the Role
The Packaging Technical Manager (& New Product Development) will be responsible for driving technical development across all sample requests received by the Sales team and customers, as well as leading new RM (Research and Development) initiatives. This role involves evaluating alternate materials, possibilities, processes, and equipment to identify opportunities for future business pipeline concepts. The successful candidate will also collaborate with the Marketing team to discuss successful projects in an I2M (Information to Market) format.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical development for all sample requests received by Sales team and customers
- New RM development and supplier development
- Evaluate alternate materials, possibilities, processes, and equipment
- Finding new opportunities for the next business pipeline – Concepts
- Discuss successful projects with Mkt team as I2M’s (Information to Market) format
- Determine and execute improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors, and customers
- Transfer new technologies, products, and manufacturing processes into and out of the company within Group companies
- Document all phases of Sample development for the commercialization of project
- Manage customer relationships and perform requests for expected products/reviews, customer visits, and product testing
- Be present at industry conferences on research topics of Interest
- Communication with global technology team for all new projects/things going on at Global R & D and implementing the best technology what can be possible from other team on all the segments (Flexible) & Vice versa
- Involvement in selection of new technology/ machinery/ Business concept
- Lead key projects for GKA’s & LKA’s with Marketing team & Operations Team to support business goals
Requirements
- Grade 12 Degree in Chemical Engineering and/or similar Diploma in Packaging & Printing
- 8 – 10 years of experience in Flexible Packaging product development
- 5 – 8 Years in the Printing & Packaging, Food Packaging Industry and Paper/Plastic Films experience
- Technical Knowledge in flexible packaging (products, machinery, technology & RM)
- Trouble Shooting and Knowledge of the Different Packaging Lines
- Computer Skills
- Soft Skills; Good presentation Skills
- Leadership & teamwork
